...pointless. Sometimes I'll highlight a web and/or smartphone app, especially when I can relate it to a real estate activity. A few posts ago I was able to do that with Slydial. Today I'm going the other route and telling you what I'm deleting. Foursquare promised to be a way to keep tabs on and meet up with good friends by using your smartphone to "check-in" at places you visit. You could leave tips about the place, earn points and badges and get offers from nearby businesses when they notice you frequenting a certain area. That would have been cool if I actually got an offer but after a while of checking in, collecting points and badges with no offers I just felt stupid using it. I stopped playing video games a long time ago. The thing is, Foursquare gets tons of press in tech circles and I have no idea why. So for now, if you hear about Foursquare and think you might be missing something, take it from me: you're not.
